How results are ordered

By default results are listed alphabetically by school, then by program. There is no price ranking: tuition is published in different currencies, for different periods and for different student categories, so it is shown in its original form and never converted. Items marked Sponsored are paid placements; they appear in their own labelled block and never change the order of organic results, verification or recognition information. Online programs are never counted as physically located in a destination, state or city. Read the methodology.

Hospitality degrees in the United Kingdom: what the verified records show

Our verified records for the United Kingdom cover 33 universitys and 1 specialist hospitality school, with 61 hospitality management degree programs. Online-only programs are counted separately and are not described as local.

By level: 35 bachelor’s, 3 research doctorate, 22 master’s and 1 mba. Titles are shown as each institution publishes them; similarly named awards are not treated as equivalent across countries.

Teaching languages in these records: English. No program here is documented as taught entirely in English on the pages we reviewed.

1 program is awarded by an institution other than the one that teaches it (partner, validated or joint awards). The profile of each shows who awards the degree and where you would study.

52 programs publish tuition. Each amount keeps its own currency, basis and academic year, which is why prices are never ranked against each other.

8 programs have a published internship or placement requirement. The placement is part of the degree structure, not a promise of employment.

Published tuition in the United Kingdom

Each line is what the institution publishes, in its own currency and basis (per year, per semester, per credit or for the whole program), sometimes for one student category. Lines are listed alphabetically, never ranked, and are not converted or added up. Open a program for the academic year, what is included and the source.

40 more programs here publish tuition; use the programs view above to see them.

Admissions and recognition: what to check

Entry requirements differ by level, institution and sometimes by campus: prior education, language tests, work experience and intake dates are shown on each program profile with the page they came from.

Recognition is recorded with its scope. An institution’s recognition, the authority to confer a degree, a program accreditation and an association membership are different facts, and none of them is extended to another campus or to a partner automatically. Rankings are not recognition.

1 program here is awarded by an institution other than the one that teaches it, so check the awarding institution’s recognition and whether it covers the campus where you would study.

13 of 34 institutions here have at least one recognition record verified in an official source; the others are “not verified” or “stated by the institution” on their profiles, which is not the same as having no recognition.

Studying hospitality management in United Kingdom

In England and Wales, hospitality management degrees are taught mainly in university business schools and specialist hospitality schools, as three-year honours degrees (often with an optional placement year), one-year master's degrees and research doctorates. Fees are published separately for UK (home) and international students. Scotland and Northern Ireland are researched separately.

Qualification structures

Award names and levels are local to United Kingdom. A similar name in another country is not assumed to be equivalent.

Honours bachelor's degree (BA/BSc Hons)
Typically three years full time, or four years with an optional professional training or placement year; some universities also offer a final-year top-up and a foundation-year route. Example: Surrey lists BSc (Hons) International Hospitality Management at 3 years, or 4 years with placement. Source
Taught master's degree (MSc/MA)
Usually one year full time, with some universities adding an optional placement year or a longer part-time route. Example: Oxford Brookes lists 1 year, or 2 years in sandwich mode including a work placement. Source
Research degree (MPhil/PhD)
Research doctorates are offered through business schools; Oxford Brookes lists a full-time PhD of minimum 3 years in hospitality, tourism and events management. Source

Languages and admissions

Teaching languages. English is the language of instruction for the programmes found; universities set English-language requirements per course, for example IELTS 6.0 for undergraduate and 6.5 for master's study at several universities.

Admissions. Undergraduate applications are made through UCAS; the course pages found state UCAS tariff or A-level offers, with international applicants able to apply directly to the university or via UCAS at several universities. Master's applications are generally made directly to the university and ask for a 2:2 or equivalent. International applicants need a licensed student sponsor and must prove English to CEFR B2 for degree-level study before applying for a Student visa. Source

Nothing here establishes visa, work-permit or credit-transfer eligibility. Check current rules with the official sources below and with the institution.

Recognition of institutions and degrees

In England, a degree is officially recognised if the institution can award degrees (checked on the Office for Students Register), if it is on the list of recognised awards, or if it is awarded by certain named bodies; in Wales the Welsh Government maintains a list of recognised bodies. The qualifications are placed in the FHEQ for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The Office for Students Register could not be read by script during this research, so per-institution register status is not recorded. Source

Recognition is recorded with its scope: an institution, an authority to award a qualification, a program accreditation or an association membership are different things, and none extends automatically to another campus or partner.
